The 180² Framework™ is a robust encapsulation of Mediaroom subsystems that helps carriers maximize the profitability of their Mediaroom service, reduce the complexity of Mediaroom integration, lower operational costs, and speed time-to-revenue. By providing a single unified interface, the 180² Framework™ enables all applications and subsystems to safely and transparently interact with Mediaroom as well as with other systems. The interface works with applications from 180Squared, Inc., emerging third-party software, and operator Billing/Operations Support System (B/OSS) applications such as CRM and billing.

 

The extensible 180² Framework™ enables operators and third parties to develop standardized interfaces for their own Mediaroom applications. 180Squared, Inc. provides broadband operators with stability in a changing environment. 180Squared, Inc. updates changes to the Frameworks core APIs as Mediaroom changes, without changing its applications interface. By shielding developers from underlying Mediaroom updates and changes, 180Squared, Inc. ensures that their applications are future proof.

The 180² Framework™ also ensures that software and applications from third-party companies and operator software will not put an undue processing burden on Mediaroom. The 180² Framework™ monitors the health and traffic flow of Mediaroom services. It automatically rejects incoming requests that can pose service interruptions to ensure proper load balancing and prevent video degradation. The 180²  Framework™ also makes sure that all types of traffic flow correctly, that the message type is formatted correctly, and that the carrier is alerted if there is a problem.

The 180² Framework™ is comprised of multiple components. A key component is a comprehensive workflow engine that allows operators to translate existing business logic to Mediaroom services. Operators can thus tailor Mediaroom to their specific business logic and their interfaces. The 180²  Framework™ also provides all message translation into Mediaroom and provides service assurance against faulty Mediaroom interactions that could degrade network performance or cause other scalability problems.
